Some of these recalled products include:
- Odor-Eaters Anti-Fungal Foot Spray
- Sunscreen Spray
- Banana Boat Hair & Scalp Sunscreen
- Deodorant Sprays
- Antiperspirant Sprays

In October 2015, a jury in Texas awarded $8.2 million to Virgil Hood, a former painter who was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). He was exposed to benzene in solvents, paints, and paint thinners on the job between 1973 and 1996.
$824K Benzene Exposure Lawsuit Settlements
In March 2016, a jury in Pennsylvania state court awarded $824,000 to Louis DeSorbo, a man who developed Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) after years of using a printing solvent that contained benzene. He accused U.S. Steel of failing to warn about the risk of blood poisoning.
What is Benzene?
Benzene is a common industrial chemical that is used as a base for solvents, de-greasing agents, cleaning chemicals, lubricants, paint, and as an additive in gasoline. Many people are exposed to benzene by breathing motor vehicle exhaust and fumes from industrial products. It evaporates quickly into the air and is absorbed by the skin. Auto mechanics are often exposed to benzene in repair shops.
What is the problem?
The Clark Firm, LLP is nationally recognized as a class action law firm in Texas, but our lawyers are not filing a benzene class action lawsuit. Instead, we are filing individual lawsuits for people who were exposed to benzene on the job and developed cancer, such as:
- Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
- Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)
- Multiple Myeloma
- Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML)
- Aplastic anemia
- Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL)
- Blood cancers
- Childhood leukemia
- Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
- Hairy Cell Leukemia
- Hematologic cancer
- Myelofibrosis and Myeloid Metaplasia
- Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
About Class Actions
Class action lawsuits are usually filed by one person on behalf of everyone else who has the same legal claim. If compensation is awarded, everyone in the class action shares the payout.
Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Class Action
For people with severe injuries, class actions can have disadvantages. Members may have to accept a low-ball settlement or massive attorneys’ fees. It is very rare for consumer class actions go to trial.
Our lawyers are filing individual lawsuits instead of a benzene class action so we can focus on helping people with the most serious injuries. We hold manufacturers accountable for failing to warn about severe side effects. If you were injured by benzene, we may be able to help you seek compensation for your medical bills — and more.
