What Should I Do?
Check if your toddler step-stool is being recalled.
This recall involves Onasti® Toddler Tower Stools that were sold on Amazon.com from March 2024 through December 2024 for $72-$90.
These toddler tower stools were sold on Amazon.com, but the recall was issued by a manufacturer based in China called Blissful-Time. The company said it will notify all known purchasers of the recall.
Blissful-Time is not offering a refund. If you bought a recalled Onasti Toddler Tower Stool, you must stop using it and register for a repair kit by visiting the recall website at: https://onasti.com/pages/product-recall-information. According to the company:
“If you purchased an Onasti Toddler Tower Stool between Apr 2024 and Dec 2024, you are eligible for a Free Repair Kit to enhance the safety of your stool.”
Step2 Toddler Tower Recall
In September 2021, another recall was issued for about 1,570 Step2® Sidekick Learning Towers because children can fall and suffer injuries.
There was 1 report of a child who fell and suffered minor bruises. Step2 received 20 reports of the storage tray or steps coming loose from the tower, which poses a fall hazard. The recalled products were sold in May 2021 for about $100.
What is a Toddler Tower Stool?
Toddler Tower Stools are step-stools for children that have guardrails and other safety features. They allow a toddler or young child climb up to counter-height in the kitchen or bathroom. They are also advertised as “learning towers” or “helper towers,” because they let a child help an adult in the kitchen, or reach the sink to wash their hands or play.
Head Injuries in Children & Toddlers
Toddlers and young children are especially vulnerable to head injuries in falls. They do not have to fall very far to suffer serious head injuries, traumatic brain injuries, concussions, skull fractures, and lifelong health problems related to brain damage. Any parent who is concerned about a head injury in a child should seek medical attention immediately.
