Guidecraft Linked to 11 Reports of Children Falling From Toddler Towers
In May 2026, Guidecraft voluntarily recalled approximately 25,235 Classic and Contemporary Kitchen Helper toddler towers due to a fall hazard to young children.
According to the CPSC, the platform inside the recalled tower can loosen over time, causing it to become unstable or detach. Guidecraft received 11 reports of children falling from the recalled towers before the recall was announced. There were 3 reports of injuries, including a bloody nose and bruises.
The towers were manufactured in China and imported by Guidecraft of Mocksville, North Carolina. They were sold nationwide, including at major Texas retail locations and online.
What Is the Defect?
The CPSC describes the hazard as follows:
“The platform inside the recalled tower can loosen over time, causing it to become unstable or detach, and ultimately posing a fall hazard to young children.”
Toddler towers (also called learning towers or kitchen helpers) raise a child to counter height so they can participate in kitchen activities. Guidecraft recommends Kitchen Helpers for children as young as 18 months. When the platform fails, a young child standing several feet above a hard floor can fall without warning and with no time to brace.
For example, potential injuries from a fall at counter height onto tile, stone, or hardwood might include:
- Bloody noses
- Bruises and contusions
- Head impact and concussions
- Lacerations
- Dental injuries
- Broken bones from outstretched arms
Which Products Are Affected?
The recall covers Classic and Contemporary Guidecraft Kitchen Helper Towers in 9 colors. Each affected tower has a specific item number and lot number printed on the foil sticker on the bottom of the platform.
- Classic Kitchen Helper toddler towers — 9 color options
- Contemporary Kitchen Helper toddler towers — 9 color options
- Sold from June 2022 through October 2023 for about $200
- Item number and lot number printed on the foil sticker on the bottom of the platform
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled towers were sold online at Guidecraft.com, Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, Target, Maisonette, and Overstock from June 2022 through October 2023.
The CPSC advises that consumers stop using the recalled towers immediately and contact Guidecraft for free repair parts and installation instructions. For updates, visit the Guidecraft product recall page or the official CPSC recall notice.
How Many Children Were Injured?
Nationwide, Guidecraft received 11 reports of children falling from the recalled towers, including 3 reported injuries. The injuries described in the official recall notice include a bloody nose and bruises.
Related Toddler Tower Recalls in 2026
The Guidecraft recall is the second toddler tower recall the CPSC announced in May 2026. On the same day, the CPSC also announced a recall of Cosyland Children’s Tower Stools, citing tip-over, fall, and entrapment hazards linked to serious injury and death.
In April 2026, the CPSC also recalled the Toetol Home children’s tower stool along with 2 other toddler towers imported by Amzcmj DGD and Wiifo. A 2025 Consumer Reports investigation found that most of the toddler towers it tested raised safety concerns, with many failing tip-over and entrapment tests.
There is currently no mandatory federal safety standard specifically for toddler towers, meaning manufacturers test their own products against voluntary guidelines.
Legal Help for Texas Families With Injured Children
Children are uniquely vulnerable in falls at counter height because they cannot brace themselves the way an adult can. Texas families whose child was injured in a fall from a recalled toddler tower may be entitled to compensation. A Texas product liability lawyer can help you understand your legal options.
