April 19, 2022 — World Variety Produce Inc. recalled one lot of Marketside® Organic Zucchini from Walmart stores in 18 states after a sample tested positive for Salmonella.
What is the Problem?
No illnesses were reported at the time of the recall. Instead, a single lot of the imported zucchini tested positive for Salmonella in a routine FDA test, according to the manufacturer.

What is Salmonella?
Salmonella is a bacteria that commonly causes food poisoning. The symptoms in a healthy adult may include a fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
In some cases, the infection causes life-threatening dehydration, or other complications, such as “arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis,” according to the FDA.
