What is Roundup Pro?

Roundup Pro® is a more concentrated version of Monsanto’s original Roundup® formulation. It contains 41% glyphosate and 59% other ingredients, including a surfactant. Roundup Pro is advertised for large-scale weed control in industrial, turf, and ornamental settings.

In August 2018, a jury in San Francisco awarded $289 million to a groundskeeper who was diagnosed with lymphoma after years of spraying Roundup on school fields. The jury determined that Monsanto should have known about the potential risk of cancer from glyphosate, and failed to provide adequate warnings on Roundup.

Studies Link Glyphosate and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma

In 2015, glyphosate was declared to be a “probable human carcinogen” by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a division of the World Health Organization. The classification was based on 3 studies in the U.S., Canada, and Sweden that found higher rates of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma among farm-workers who used glyphosate-based herbicides.
