PowerXL Air Fryers Recalled for Burn Hazards
In December 2023, around 319,000 PowerXL Air Fryers from Kohls, Walmart and Target were recalled after people were burned.
What is the Problem?
The plastic U-shaped connector that is used to optionally combine the two food baskets inside of the air fryers can break during use, posing a burn hazard.
How Many People Were Burned?
There were 41 reports of the product breaking during use, including 3 reports of people who were burned.
What Air Fryers Were Recalled?
The recall involves the PowerXL™ DUAF-10 (10-quart) and DUAF-005 (9-quart) Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryers. These two models are egg-shaped air fryers with two baskets inside that can be used separately or combined together into one large single basket.
They were sold nationwide at Target, Walmart, Kohls, other stores and online from August 2021 through October 2023 for $60 to $190, depending on the model.
What Should I Do?
Empower Brands is asking customers to immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and register for a refund, which will be issued as a prepaid virtual Mastercard, at the recall website: https://recall.prodprotect.com/dualbasket.
