Pistachio Cream Linked to Salmonella Outbreak
Health officials are conducting Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) tests to determine if the Salmonella strain in World Market Emek Pistachio Cream matches the Salmonella strain that sickened at least 4 people in 2 states.
What Happened?
In June 2025, Emek Pistachio Cream was linked to a Salmonella outbreak that sickened at least 4 people in Minnesota and New Jersey, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Health officials are warning people not to eat this product:
“Emek brand pistachio spread sold at World Market is now recalled. Do not eat, sell, or serve Emek brand pistachio cream with a use by date of October 19, 2026, or the recalled spread.”
If you purchased this product, World Market is urging you to throw it away, or return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
