On May 17, 2024, Palmer Candy expanded a recall to include more products and best-by dates of several types of white-coated candy, pretzels, cookies and snack mixes that may contain Salmonella. The expanded recall includes the following products:

- Vanilla Yogurt Covered Pretzels 10oz
- Zebra Fudge Cookies 7oz
- Patriotic White Fudge Cookies 13.5oz
- Drizzled Caramel Corn 5oz and 12oz

Palmer Candy Recalled From Texas Stores by United Supermarkets
On May 17, 2024, another warning was announced by United Supermarkets for stores in Texas and New Mexico.
United Supermarkets warned customers not to eat white-coated confectionary products that were recalled by Palmer Candy. These products were sold at Albertsons Market, Amigos, Market Street and United stores in New Mexico and Texas.
Where Were Palmer Candy Products Sold?
Palmer Candy products were sold nationwide at major retailers like Walmart, HyVee, Target, Dollar General, and other stores.
They were shipped to distributors located in Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
What Happened?
No illnesses were reported at the time of the recall. Instead, Palmer Candy was notified by its liquid white-coated candy supplier about a risk of Salmonella contamination. The products include white yogurt covered pretzels, white fudge-covered cookies, and more.
What is the Risk?
People who are infected with Salmonella may develop a fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. There is a possible risk of severe complications. The risk of a serious illness is highest for young children (under 5 years old), elderly adults, pregnant women, and people who have vulnerable immune systems.
