NorthStar Pressure Washers Recalled for Fire Hazard

In January 2026, the Minnesota-based company Northern Tool + Equipment recalled about 1,416 pressure washers that can produce smoke or “bursts of flames during use,” which poses a fire hazard. No injuries or incidents were reported in the recall.

What is the Problem?

The fire hazard has been linked to a faulty fan wheel, which may result in abnormal burner operation. According to the recall website:

“Certain NorthStar pressure washers manufactured between January 2025 and August 2025 may contain a faulty fan wheel. The fan wheel on the recalled pressure washers can fail, causing abnormal burner operation that can produce smoke and/or bursts of flames during product use, posing a fire hazard.”

What Pressure Washers Were Recalled?

Three models of NorthStar Pressure Washers are affected by the recall:

• NorthStar Gas Wet Steam and Hot Water Pressure Washer 3000 PSI, 4 GPM, Honda Engine, Electric Start (Item #157310)
• NorthStar Gas Hot Water Commercial Pressure Washer Skid 4,000 PSI, 4.0 GPM, Honda Engine (Item # 157594)
• NorthStar Trailer-Mounted Hot Water Commercial Pressure Washer 4000 PSI, 4 GPM, Honda Engine, 200-Gal. Water Tank (Item #157595)

Only pressure washers with a MONTHYEAR code in the product serial number between 0125 (January 2025) and 0825 (August 2025), and a WEEKYEAR burner date code between 0125 and 2625 (weeks 01 to 26 of 2025) are included in this recall.

When Were They Sold?

They were sold from January 2025 through August 2025 at Northern Tool + Equipment stores nationwide and online at NorthernTool.com, Amazon.com, Ebay.com, and GNEDI.com.

Northern Tool + Equipment is urging customers to immediately stop using pressure washers that are affected by this recall.
