Meisinuo Heated Insoles Linked to Fires and Explosions

In July 2026, the CPSC issued a warning urging consumers to immediately stop using Meisinuo heated insoles. The insoles contain a lithium-ion battery in the heel that can explode and ignite.

According to the CPSC:

“CPSC is aware of 17 reports of fires, explosions, and other thermal incidents involving the defective insoles resulting in at least 15 reported burn injuries, including serious second and third-degree burns requiring hospital treatment.”

What Makes These Insoles So Dangerous?

Heated insoles are worn inside closed boots and shoes, directly under the foot. If the battery in the heel explodes or ignites, the wearer can suffer deep burns before the boot can even be pulled off.

The CPSC also cautions that defective lithium-ion batteries present a greater risk of fire than other batteries. That danger exists during use, while charging, and even in storage before disposal.

How Do I Know If My Insoles Are Included?

These heated insoles can be identified by checking the following description:

  • Black heated insoles sold by Meisinuo
  • Lithium-ion battery located in the heel area
  • Operated by a remote control
  • Sold on Amazon.com from August 2023 through December 2024 for $35 to $90
  • Manufactured in China, with about 1,372 units sold

Is There a Recall or Refund?

No. Meisinuo has not agreed to recall the insoles or offer any remedy, so the CPSC issued a public safety warning instead of a recall.

The agency urges consumers to dispose of the insoles through a local household hazardous waste collection center, not in the trash, a curbside recycling bin, or a retail battery recycling box. Injuries and product failures can be reported to the CPSC at SaferProducts.gov.

Have Other Heated Insole Brands Been Flagged?

Yes. The CPSC issued similar warnings for iHeat heated insoles in July 2025, Tajarly in September 2025, Junsyoung in March 2026, and METASONO/MEATSONO in 2026, all sold through online marketplaces.

Our lawyers are investigating heated insole burn injury cases involving these and similar battery-powered foot warmers. The repeated pattern across so many brands points to a deeper problem with low-cost lithium-ion heating products.
