FDA Evaluating Rhabdomyolysis Risk

The FDA is evaluating a potential signals of a serious risk and new safety information linking DPP4 diabetes drugs and rhabdomyolysis. This potentially life-threatening kidney side effect was identified by the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) between April and June 2017.

Jentadueto and Pancreatic Cancer

Jentadueto contains linagliptin, a diabetes drug that lowers blood-sugar levels by forcing the pancreas to make more insulin. It belongs to a class of drugs called incretin mimetics.

Because Jentadueto relies so heavily on the pancreas, some experts are concerned that over-stimulation could lead to inflammation (pancreatitis) and pancreatic cancer.

Jentadueto has only been on the market since 2012, but other drugs in the “incretin mimetic” class have been around since 2005. Unfortunately, the FDA has received dozens of reports of patients who developed pancreatitis, including life-threatening hemorrhagic and necrotizing pancreatitis.

FDA Warning for Pancreatic Side Effects

In March 2013, the FDA warned about pancreatic side effects of Jentadudeo in a Safety Communication. The agency cited a study linking incretin therapy with a doubled increased risk of pancreatitis. One study published in Diabetes also found pre-cancerous growths in pancreases from people who used incretin therapy.

What is the problem?

The Clark Firm, LLP is nationally recognized as a class action law firm, but we are not filing a Jentadueto class action. Instead, we are pursuing individual lawsuits against drug-makers for failing to warn about side effects.

About Class Actions

Class actions are a convenient and efficient way for a lot of people to seek compensation for the same legal claim. Class actions are not designed to help individuals with severe injuries — they are designed to resolve hundreds or even thousands of cases all at once.

Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Class Action

Members of class actions may have to accept “low-ball” settlements or attorneys’ fees that leave little remaining for everyone to in the class action to share. Instead of class actions, our lawyers only accept cases involving the most serious injuries.

We focus our efforts on seeking justice and maximizing compensation for each of our clients by filing individual lawsuits. If you or a loved one was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, you could receive compensation for your pain and suffering, medical expenses, and more.
