GOPO Toys Recalled Pull String Teething Toys for Choking

In June 2026, GOPO Toys recalled about 70,410 GOPO TOYS Pull String Teething Toys due to a severe, life-threatening choking hazard. No deaths were reported, but there were 3 reports of the toy’s strings reaching the back of a child’s throat, resulting in respiratory distress or choking.

The teething toys were distributed by GOPO Toys LLC, of San Bernardino, California, and manufactured in China. They were sold on Amazon.com from August 2023 through March 2026 for between $11 and $15.

What Is the Choking Hazard?

The recalled toys violate the mandatory safety standard for toys. The problem is that the toys are designed with 6 long, skinny silicone strings or “tentacles.” These strings are smaller and longer than permitted because they can reach the back of a child’s throat and get stuck, which can block a young child’s airway within seconds.

The CPSC describes the danger this way:

“The strings can reach the back of children’s throat and become lodged, posing a serious risk of respiratory distress and deadly choking hazard.”

Choking emergencies in babies and toddlers can escalate quickly, and a parent may not realize what has happened until the child is already in distress. Young children may be unable to remove the toy from their throat, especially if they are actively choking and experiencing respiratory distress.

• Price: Between $11 and $15

Where Were They Sold?

The recalled teething toys were sold on Amazon.com from August 2023 through March 2026. If you have one of these toys at home, safety officials recommend that you stop using it and take it away from children.

GOPO Toys is offering a full refund. No purchase receipt is required for a refund. Owners are asked to cut all silicone strings, write “DESTROYED” in permanent marker on the main body of the toy, and email a photo of the destroyed product to recalls@gopotoys.com.
