Fennel Seed Recall in Texas
July 2019 — Mountain Rose Herbs of Eugene, Oregon, has issued a recall for all sizes of whole fennel seeds after the company discovered Salmonella bacteria in a portion of its active inventory.
What Fennel Seeds Were Recalled?
No illnesses have been reported. The recall involves whole fennel seeds (Lot #25031), in sizes ranging from 4-oz. to 50-lb bags. They were sold in clear plastic or poly-woven bags from April 2019 through July 18, 2019.
Where Were They Sold?
They were sold a vitamin and health food stores in Texas and the Mountain Rose Herbs retail store in Eugene, Oregon, on the company website, through mail order and fax, and the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, IL, MA, MI, MN, MT, NC, NE, NM, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WV.
What Should I Do?
Anyone who bought the recalled fennel seeds should not consume them, and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Mountain Rose Herbs at 1-800-879-3337.
