Lawsuit Filed by Father of Boy Killed by FedEx Truck
November 2014 — A lawsuit has been filed by the father of a 24 year-old man on a bicycle who was hit by a FedEx delivery truck and dragged 50 feet before stopping. Lawyers for the family said the driver had taken hydrocodone without a prescription and was driving without a valid commercial driver’s license. Witnesses said the driver was looking down and accelerating when the man was hit.
FedEx Hit With Lawsuits After Deadly Bus Accident in California
October 2014 — The LA Times reports that at least 16 lawsuits have been filed against FedEx after a deadly crash that occurred in April on the I-5 freeway in Orland, California.
The FedEx truck was pulling two 28-foot trailers when it hit the back of a 2013 Nissan Altima, which spun out of control and hit a chartered bus. The bus was carrying high school students and chaperones. A fire erupted, killing five high school students, three chaperones, the bus driver, and the driver of the FedEx truck.
