Cake Batter Can Make You Sick
The FDA is warning consumers not to eat raw cake batter. Cake mixes can contain ingredients like eggs or flour that may be contaminated with Salmonella or other types of bacteria. Cooking or baking the cake batter to a proper internal temperature will kill the bacteria.
Consumers are reminded to wash their hands, work surfaces, and utensils thoroughly after contact with raw batter products, to follow baking instructions, and to never eat raw batter.”
