Cosori Air Fryer Recalled for Fire & Burn Hazard
In February 2023, more than 2 million COSORI® Air Fryers were recalled because they can catch on fire. The problem is that “a wire connection in the air fryers can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards,” according to the recall notice.
What Happened?
The recalled Cosori Air Fryers have been linked to 205 reports of fire, burning, melting, overheating or smoking. At least 10 people suffered minor burn injuries. There were also 23 reports of property damage.
Where Were They Sold?
Cosori Air Fryers were sold nationwide in the U.S. from June 2018 through December 2022 for $70 to $130.
They were sold by Best Buy, Target, The Home Deport, Amazon.com, and other stores and websites, including: Adorama.com, Bedbathandbeyond.com, Cosori.com, eBay.com, Homegoods.com, Kohls.com, Lowes.com, Macys.com, QVC.com, Staples.com, Vesync.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, Wellbots.com and Woot.com
The recall also involves about 250,000 air fryers that were sold in Canada, plus 21,000 that were sold in Mexico.
How To Identify a Recalled Air Fryer
Look in the User’s Manual or on the bottom of the air fryer for a label with the model number. The recall involves model numbers CP158-AF, CP158-AF-R19, CP158-AF-RXW, CP158-AF-RXR, CAF-P581-BUSR, CAF-P581-AUSR, CAF-P581-RUSR, CP137-AF, CP137-AF-RXB, CP137-AF-RXR, CP137-AF-RXW, CS158-AF, CS158-AF-RXB, CS158-AF-R19, CAF-P581S-BUSR, CAF-P581S-RUSR, CAF-P581S-AUSR, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, CO158-AF-RXB, or CP258-AF.
They came in 3.7-quart and 5.8 quart sizes and various colors, including black, gray, white, blue or red.
What To Do Now
The manufacturer is asking consumers to immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and register at recall.cosori.com for a free replacement air fryer, or a coupon for another Cosori product.
