What is Bronco?
Bronco® is an herbicidal chemical that is used to kill weeds in corn, soybeans, and grain sorghum (milo). It contains 27.6% alachlor, 14.8% glyphosate, and 57.6% inert ingredients.
What is the problem?
Bronco contains glyphosate, the same active weed-killing chemical in Roundup® and dozens of other herbicides. Monsanto is accused of downplaying evidence linking glyphosate and cancer.
In March 2015, glyphosate was declared a “probable human carcinogen” by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a division of the World Health Organization. The conclusions were based on 3 studies that found higher rates of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma among farm-workers in the U.S., Canada, and Sweden.
Glyphosate Lawsuits Question Monsanto-EPA Collusion
Thousands of lawsuits have been filed by lawyers for people who developed lymphoma after using Roundup® and other glyphosate-based herbicides. Lawyers have released evidence that Monsanto worked with the U.S. EPA to downplay the risk of cancer and “kill” studies that might have investigated the cancer risks of glyphosate.
Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a type of cancer that occurs when infection-fighting cells called lymphocytes grow out of control. Over 70,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with lymphoma every year, and many cases are due to toxic chemical exposure on the job.
Types of Cancer Linked to Glyphosate
- Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
- Large Diffuse B-cell (DLBCL)
- Follicullar Lymphoma
- Cutaneous T-Cell
- Anapalastic T-cell
- Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
- Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma
- Mantle Cell Lymphoma
- Primary Central Nervous System (CNS) Lymphoma
- Multiple Myeloma
