What is Accord?
Accord® XRT II Herbicide is a non-selective herbicide that contains glyphosate, the same active ingredient as Monsanto’s Roundup®. Accord also includes a unique third-generation DMA salt.
What is the problem?
Glyphosate, the powerful weed-killing chemical in Accord, was upgraded to a “probable human carcinogen” by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in 2015. Their concern was based on multiple studies linking glyphosate with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma the U.S., Canada, and Sweden.
Glyphosate Cancer Lawsuits
Over 4,000 lawsuits were filed against Monsanto by people who developed lymphoma after using glyphosate-based herbicides. These lawsuits claim that Monsanto failed to warn about the risk of cancer and advertised herbicides like Roundup as “safer than table salt.”
Jury Awards $289 Million in Cancer Lawsuit
In August 2018, a groundskeeper from California named DeWayne Johnson was awarded $289 million by a jury who decided that his cancer was likely caused by glyphosate exposure. The jury determined that Monsanto did not provide adequate warnings about cancer from glyphosate.

Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a type of cancer that causes cells called lymphocytes to grow uncontrollably. The symptoms depend on where it is located in the body, but many people experience enlarged lymph nodes, fatigue, fever, night sweats, and more.
