Sunstone Organics Recalls Kratom for Salmonella Risk

March 1, 2019 — Sunstone Organics has announced a voluntary recall for 2 lots of kratom due to a potential risk of infection with Salmonella.

What Kratom Was Recalled?

The recalled kratom products include Sunstone Organics White Vein Kratom Lot 119 and Sunstone Organics Maeng Da Kratom Lot 124A in both capsules and powder form and in all sizes.

Where Was It Sold?

The recalled kratom products were distributed to retail outlets in Oregon, Washington, California, and Nebraska.

What is the Problem?

No illnesses have been linked to the recall, but consuming kratom tea or supplements that are contaminated wth Salmonella could potentially result in a serious infection. Symptoms of Salmonella can include illness, vomiting, and some cases even death.

What Should I Do?

Consumers who have the recalled Sunstone Organics Kratom should stop using it, discard it, or return it to place of purchase.
