October 10, 2019 — Tip Top Poultry has expanded a recall for fully-cooked chicken to include a wide range of ready-made foods that may be contaminated with Listeria.
Tip Top Poultry recalled a variety of foods made with fully-cooked chicken, including many brands of salads, sandwiches, wraps, burritos, freeze-dried backpacker meals, bulk chicken for food-service, and more.
The recall involves fully-cooked chicken produced from January 21 to September 24, 2019 at its facility in Rockmart, Georgia, according to an expanded recall update issued by the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) on October 8, 2019.
The ready-made chicken products were sold at Trader Joe’s, Food Lion, KJ Market, Jersey Mike’s, IGA, Great Harvest Bread Company, BI-LO, ALDI, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Harris Teeter, Dillons, Food 4 Less, and other stores.
Consumers can identify a recalled product by looking at the label for the number “Est. P-17453” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The recall involves products such as Trader Joe’s Pesto Chicken Wrap, Deli Express Chicken Salad, Market Sandwich Chicken Wraps, Resers Chicken Salad, freeze-dried Backpacker’s Pantry chicken meals, and many more.

Tip Top Poultry issued a statement saying they have shut down the fowl cooking line until the source of potential Listeria contamination is eliminated.
