October 1, 2024 — A woman who claims that she and her partner were burned by a pressure cooker explosion has filed a lawsuit against ALDI.
The plaintiff, Jahsheia G., is a woman from Louisiana who suffered “serious and substantial burn injuries” when the lid suddenly exploded off of her ALDI Ambiano 9-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker.
According to her lawsuit, she was using the pressure cooker to make food when the lid “suddenly and unexpectedly” exploded off the pot.
The instant release of built-up pressure ejected the scalding-hot contents of the pot onto her body. Her partner was also burned by scalding-hot food, liquid, and steam that blew out.
In her lawsuit, she blames their injuries on defective safety features that failed to lock the lid until all of the pressure had been released.
She incurred substantial injuries and financial damages as a result of the accident, including painful bodily injuries, medical expenses, wage loss, physical pain, and diminished enjoyment of life.
Her lawsuit was filed on February 14, 2024 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana — Case 3:24-cv-00212-TAD-KDM.
