ALDI Ambiano Pressure Cooker Lawsuit Filed in Texas

In April 2024, a woman from Dallas, Texas, filed a pressure cooker lawsuit after she was burned by an ALDI Ambiano Pressure Cooker.

The lawsuit was filed by Iglesias S., a woman from Texas who claims that she was burned in April 2022 when the lid blew off of her Ambiano 9-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker that she bought at ALDI.

What Happened?

According to the lawsuit, she was burned as a result of the “pressure cooker’s lid suddenly and unexpectedly exploding off the pressure cooker’s pot.”

There was still built-up pressure, heat, and steam trapped inside the unit, which allowed “its scalding hot contents to be forcefully ejected from the pressure cooker” and all over her body.

Lawsuit Claims Pressure Cooker is Dangerously Defective

Her lawsuit was filed against the retailer ALDI, Inc., for selling a “dangerously defective” pressure cooker. She blames the retailer for misleading consumers about the safety features of the product.

Safety Features Failed to Prevent Pressure Cooker Burn Injuries, Lawsuit Claims

Specifically, she claims that she was misled by ALDI’s statements about “safety features,” such as a a float valve, pressure regulator, and a lid position sensor.

All of these features were supposed to prevent the lid from opening while the machine was pressurized. Instead, she claims to have suffered “serious and substantial burn injuries” when the pressure cooker’s lid unexpectedly blew off the pot.

The lawsuit was filed against ALDI, Inc., on April 8, 2024 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (Dallas Division) — Case Number 3:24-cv-00855-K.
