August 20, 2021 — Grimmway Farms recalled a variety of baby carrots and shredded carrots due to a risk of Salmonella contamination.
The recall involves 4 brand of carrots, including Bunny Luv®, Cal-Organic®, Grimmway Farms®, and O Organics®. The products were sold nationwide at many major grocery stores.
The recall involves the following products:
- Bunny Luv® Organic Cut and Peeled Baby Carrots (1-lb bag)
- Bunny Luv® Organic Premium Petite Carrots (3-lb bag)
- Cal-Organic® Organic Petite Carrots (12-oz bag)
- Grimmway Farms® Shredded Carrots (10-oz bag)
- O Organics® Organic Peeled Baby-Cut Carrots (1-lb bag)
- O Organics® Organic Baby Rainbow Carrots (12-oz bag)
The recall also involves shredded carrots and chopped (chunk) carrots that were supplied by Grimmway to food manufacturers and food service distributors, but most of the product never available to eat.
No illnesses were reported, but Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause serious food poisoning, especially for people with vulnerable immune systems.
