January 26, 2026 — Whole Foods and other stores have recalled certain 8-oz. pouches of Navitas Organics Chia Seeds due to a risk of Salmonella contamination.
The recall involves Organic Chia Seed pouches that were sold at Whole Foods, Amazon, other stores and websites nationwide.
No illnesses were reported, but Navitas recalled the product in response to a recall initiated by the company’s chia seed supplier.
The recall involves Navitas Organics® Organic Chia Seeds with UPC 858847000284. The product was packaged in 8-oz. stand-up pouches. The recall is limited to products with Lot Codes:
- W31025283 – Best If Used By: End APR 2027
- W31025286 – Best If Used By: End APR 2027
- W31025287 – Best If Used By: End APR 2027
- W31025311 – Best If Used By: End MAY 2027
- W31025314 – Best If Used By: End MAY 2027
- W31025315 – Best If Used By: End MAY 2027
- W31025316 – Best If Used By: End MAY 2027
- W31025317 – Best If Used By: End MAY 2027
Navitas is urging customers not to eat this product. Customers can return the product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
