November 15, 2024 — NuWave LLC has been sued by a woman who was burned by a defective Nutri-Pot Pressure Cooker that exploded when she opened the lid.
The lawsuit was filed by a woman from Wichita, Kansas, who accuses NuWave of ignoring dozens of complaints, serious incidents and burn injuries involving people who were using Nutri-Pot Pressure Cookers.
According to her complaint:
NuWave is accused of failing to warn consumers about the risk of serious burn injuries, and continuing to advertise the “Sure-Lock® Safety System,” despite a growing body of evidence that it can fail.
In her lawsuit, the plaintiff claims that she was able to easily twist open the lid on her Nutri-Pot Pressure Cooker while it was still pressurized, which ejected scalding-hot food and liquid onto her body.
She claims the “safety features” failed to lock the lid and prevent her from opening the Nutri-Pot Pressure Cooker when it was pressurized.
Her Nutri-Pot Lawsuit was filed on October 31, 2024 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (Eastern Division) — Case Number 1:24-cv-11220.
