Ambiano Pressure Cookers Recalled After 8 Severe Burn Injuries

October 10, 2025 — Nearly 50,000 Ambiano Pressure Cookers that were sold at ALDI have been recalled after 8 reports of severe burn injuries.

The recall was announced by the manufacturer, Tempo USA, for pressure cookers that were sold exclusively at ALDI.

Tempo USA reported 11 incidents, including 8 severe burn injuries. The safety issue is linked to a problem with the lid, according to the recall:

“The pressure-cooker lid can be opened before sufficient steam pressure has been released, causing hot contents to escape and posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers.”

The recall involves all Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers with model numbers 93550 (KY-318B), 96775 (KY-318A), or 98527 (6L-PC).

These models may have inner pot capacity-sizes of 6-quarts or 8-quarts. The name “Ambiano” is on the front of each unit. The name and model is also printed on a label located on the bottom of the unit.

These pressure cookers were sold at ALDI retail stores nationwide between January 2016 and December 2019 for about $40.

ALDI and Tempo USA are urging customers to stop using the recalled pressure cookers, and return the product to any ALDI store for a full refund. You can also contact the manufacturer for more information.
