Walmart Recalls 4.4 Million Wire Bristle Grill Brushes

In October 2026, Walmart recalled about 4,477,655 Expert Grill Brushes with metal wire bristles that were sold exclusively at Walmart stores and online at Walmart.com.

A grill brush is used to scrape debris off the cooking grate during grilling. According to the CPSC, those small wire bristles can detach from the brush and “stick to the grill or food.”

The recall describes this as an “ingestion hazard.” In other words, people who accidentally swallow a metal wire from a grill brush could suffer serious injuries or require surgery.

Which Grill Brushes Are Recalled?

The recall invovles five models of Expert Grill Brushes, all with different designs. Consumers can find the model number on the packaging, on a sticker, or tag attached to the brush. The following models are affected by the recall:

Recall Follows Other Wire Bristle Grill Brush Recalls This Year

The recall from Walmart follows several similar recalls in 2026. In July, Conair recalled 1,719,995 Cuisinart grill brushes, and then later announced an expanded recall in August for a total of 3,625,800 brushes.

Conair said it was aware of at least 54 reports of detached wire bristles, including 3 consumers who swallowed metal wire bristles and had to get medical treatment or surgery to remove the wires from their digestive tract or throat.

Nexgrill also recalled over 10.2 million metal wire bristle grill brushes that were sold at Home Depot.
