May 17, 2019 — Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after an oil field accident in Rusk County, Texas.
The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office reported that 2 workers were injured at an oil field located at County Road 311, about 3 miles outside of Henderson.
Details are limited, but CBS 19 reports that the victims were pulling tubing out of an oil well they were closing.
One man was hit in the head when a pipe separated and struck him. He was airlifted to a hospital in Tyler. The other man was hit in the back by the pipe and driven by ambulance to UT Health Henderson.
The identities of the men have not been released. They were working with Well Pro Services.
