December 7, 2023 — TING Athletes Foot Spray was recalled after it tested positive for elevated levels of benzene, a toxic chemical that can cause cancer.
On November 24, Insight Pharmaceuticals recalled TING® 2% Miconazole Nitrate Athlete’s Foot Spray Antifungal Spray Powder.
The recall was announced after a 3rd-party lab discovered unexpected levels of benzene in the propellant that sprays the product out of the can.
No injuries or adverse events were reported, but benzene is classified as a human carcinogen (chemical that causes cancer in people).
Exposure to benzene “potentially can result in cancers including leukemia and blood cancer of the bone marrow and blood disorders which can be life threatening,” according to the recall.
The recall includes Lot Codes 0H88645 and 0B88345.
Consumers that have the recalled should stop using it immediately and appropriately discard it after taking a picture, which is necessary to receive a full refund.
