Yamaha Golf Carts Recalled for Crash Hazard
In July 2023, Yamaha recalled about 11,000 model-year 2023 Yamaha® Golf Cart, Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTVs), and UMAX Golf Cars due to a crash hazard.
The problem is that the “accelerator spring can become dislodged, allowing the accelerator pedal not to return to the resting position, posing crash and injury or death hazards,” according to the recall.
No injuries or deaths were reported as of July 6, but golf cars that accelerate uncontrollably could potentially cause a serious accident.
The recalled golf cars, PTVs and UMAX vehicles were sold by Yamaha Golf-Car dealerships and distributors nationwide from August 2022 through March 2023 for between $6,200 and $9,700.
Yamaha PTVs Recalled for Crash Hazard
In July 2023, Yamaha recalled about 370 of their model-year 2023 Yamaha® Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTVs) due to a crash hazard and a risk of severe injuries.
The problem is that the “vehicles can accelerate unexpectedly, posing crash and injury hazards to consumers,” according to the recall notice.
No injuries or deaths were reported as of of July 13, 2023, but the problem poses life-threatening safety risks.
Yamaha recalled the following vehicles:

These recalled Yamaha PTVs were sold nationwide from August 2022 through March 2023 for between $6,200 and $9,700. Yamaha is urging consumers to stop using the PTVs and contact Yamaha Golf-Car company for a free repair.
