Gias Foods Recalls Walmart’s Bettergoods Fettuccine for Listeria

In September 2026, Gias Foods, Inc. of New York recalled two lots of Walmart’s Bettergoods® Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, a frozen pasta product that is sold in a yellow plastic bag under Walmart’s Bettergoods® private label.

Did Anyone Get Sick?

No illnesses were reported. Instead, the recall was announced after the finished products tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes during routine tests. The sampling program was run by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Gias Foods has stopped shipping the product while it investigates.

What Is Listeria?

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause a serious infection called listeriosis. Unlike most types of food poisoning, infections with Listeria are more likely to be invasive and spread beyond the digestive system to other parts of the body.

In an otherwise healthy adult, symptoms can include:

• Severe headache
• Stiffness
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain and diarrhea

In pregnant women, infections withListeria may produce only mild symptoms, but result in a miscarriage or stillbirth. The infection can also be more dangerous for young children, older adults, and individuals with a weakened immune system.
