TOMY Highchairs Recalled After 11 Children Injured in Falls

What Happened?

TOMY reported 24 incidents of children falling when the seat broke off the highchair’s pedestal base. The problem is that the bolts that are supposed to securely attach the seat to the base can loosen and allow the seat to detach, causing children to fall and suffer serious injuries.

There were 11 reports of children who fell and suffered injuries when the seat broke off a TOMY highchair. The injuries involved bruises or scratches, according to the recall. The problem poses a risk of far more serious injuries, including head injuries, broken bones, or death.
