1.1 Million Temp-Tations Oven Gloves Recalled for Burn Hazard
In December 2024, QVC recalled about 1.1 million pairs of Temp-Tations Oven Gloves because they may not provide enough heat protection, which poses a burn hazard to consumers.
What is the Problem?
The recalled Temp-Tations Oven Gloves “can fail to provide sufficient protection from heat,” according to the recall warning on December 5.
Temp-Tations Oven Gloves are made of cotton and elastane (which is a stretchy material that is also used in Lycra or Spandex products).
How Do Oven Gloves Work?
Cotton is a common material in oven gloves and oven mitts, but it must be thick enough to insulate a person’s hands from extremely hot temperatures. If it is too thin, it may not work.
People who are depending on oven gloves to protect their hands from hot cookware might suffer burn injuries, or drop something that is extremely hot.
How Many People Were Burned?
QVC received 162 reports of insufficient heat protection, including 92 reports of minor burns due to the recalled Temp-Tations Oven Gloves.
Where Were They Sold?
About 1.1 million Temp-Tations Oven Gloves were sold by the TV-shopping channel QVC between August 2018 through August 2024.
They were sold on QVC.com, QVC televised shows, and QVC digital shopping platforms. The gloves were sold in pairs, two-pair sets, and also bundled with other kitchen items (such as trivets or drying mats).
How to Identify Temp-Tations Oven Gloves
Check to see if your oven gloves are part of this recall by looking for “Temp-Tations by Tara” printed on a label stitched inside the gloves.
They came in two sizes (Large or Small) and a wide variety of colors, prints, and patterns. The recall includes oven gloves with the following model numbers: K51459, K76398, K47973, K48879, K85322, K96004, K92603, K308719, K309220, K309388 and K309516.

If you have the recalled oven gloves, stop using them immediately. You can get a refund for each pair of gloves. For more information, you can visit the QVC recall website for Temp-Tations Oven Gloves at: https://www.recallrtr.com/ovengloves.
