UPDATE: White & Blue Lion Tattoo Ink Infection Class Action Filed in California
December 3, 2014 — A class action lawsuit has been filed in California by two people who developed severe tattoo infections after using bad ink from White & Blue Lion, Inc. Click here to read more.
Tattoo Ink Infections
In July 2014, the FDA recalled tattoo ink, needles, and kits from White & Blue Lion, Inc. and 8Decades after they were linked to one infection. The inks were made from pigments that are not intended for injection into the skin.
Unfortunately, products from the same manufacturer (and similarly-packaged products) are still being sold online.
If you are getting a tattoo, ask to examine in the ink bottle. Do not get the tattoo if the bottle is marked with a dragon logo or if it is missing a brand-name with a manufacturer and address. Tattoo artists should be aware of the origin of the ink and should be able to contact the manufacturer if adverse events occur.
Symptoms of an infection may include:
- Skin rash
- Hives (itchy welts)
- Weeping wounds
- Raised bumps around the tattoo
- Nodules or granulomas
- Blisters (may be fluid-filled)
- Itching or excessive pain
- And more
What is the problem?
The Clark Firm, LLP is nationally recognized as a class action law firm and our attorneys specialize in product liability. However, we are not filing a tattoo infection class action in Texas. Instead, we are filing individual lawsuits nationwide on behalf of people who needed medical treatment for tattoo infections caused by contaminated ink.
About Class Actions
Class action lawsuits are a specialized legal tool to help a large number of people seek justice for the same legal claim. Each member consolidates their individual claim with other people in the lawsuit. One member is chosen to be the “class representative.” The success or failure of the class action depends on that person’s case.
Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Tattoo Infection Class Action
The disadvantage of a class action is that members may have to accept a “low-ball” settlement with higher attorneys’ fees. This is not fair for people with very serious injuries. Another problem is that most members of a class action never get to see their personal case taken to trial or presented in a court of law.
Our lawyers help victims of defective products hold manufacturers accountable. There is no excuse for selling non-sterile tattoo inks — and continuing to sell them after the FDA has issued a recall. The disfigurement of a serious infection can last a lifetime. If you were injured, contact The Clark Firm, LLP.
