Lil Pick Up Recalls Sierra 125U Youth ATVs for Crash and Burn Hazards

In May 2026, Lil Pick Up recalled about 700 Sierra 125U Youth ATVs because they violate the federal mandatory ATV safety standard, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

The CPSC described multiple safety hazards with these youth ATVs:

  • They fail to meet mechanical suspension requirements
  • The reverse indicator light can fail to illuminate, which presents a crash hazard.
  • The parking brakes can fail to hold, posing a collision hazard
  • Surfaces near the footwell can reach high temperatures, posing a risk of severe burns.

No injuries have been reported nationally as of May 21, 2026. The recall is assigned CPSC recall number 26-501.

What Is the Danger to Child Riders?

These ATVs are built for children, which makes each defect especially serious. A parking brake that fails to hold can allow the ATV to roll or move unexpectedly, and a reverse light that does not illuminate takes away a safety warning a young rider depends on.

The burn risk is just as concerning. When footwell surfaces reach high temperatures during normal riding, a child’s leg or foot can be burned without warning.

Which Products Are Affected?

  • Sierra 125U Youth ATVs, with the model name on the VIN plate on the front frame column
  • Sold under various brand names, including “Rider 9”
  • Marked with a plate on the left front side of the frame column referencing Lil Pick Up Inc.’s CPSC-approved action plan
  • Available in red, blue, black, pink, gray, spider red and spider blue
  • Sold from October 2025 through April 2026 for between $800 and $1,300

Where Were They Sold?

The ATVs were sold online and in stores at Cougar Cycle, Texas Star dba Flying Scooter, Vitacci Motorcycles, Dallas Power Sport, Tool Store Go-Kart Shop and other retailers. Several of these dealers operate in Texas, and the vehicles were also available online to buyers across the state.

The CPSC advises that consumers stop using the recalled youth ATVs immediately and contact Lil Pick Up for a full refund. You can register for the recall and find more information on the Lil Pick Up recall page or through the official CPSC recall notice.

How Many People Were Affected?

Lil Pick Up recalled about 700 of these youth ATVs nationally. No injuries had been reported at the time of the recall, but the CPSC issued it because the vehicles fail the federal safety standard and pose a risk of serious injury or death.

With these ATVs sold through Texas dealers and online to buyers across the state, Texas families may own a recalled vehicle without realizing it poses a danger to their children. If you believe a recalled Sierra 125U Youth ATV injured your child, our lawyers may be able to help.
