CPSC Issues Urgent Warning on Rozato Fire Pits

In April 2026, safety officials issued an urgent warning for consumers to immediately stop using Rozato Tabletop Fire Pits. According to the CPSC, using these products can result in uncontrolled pool fires and flame jetting from fuel containers, resulting in serious or fatal burns.

1 Death Linked to Rozato Tabletop Fire Pits

One person has died and multiple others have suffered serious burn injuries linked to these products, according to the warning. Rozato has refused to agree to a voluntary recall, which is why the CPSC issued a warning notice rather than a formal recall. This shows how seriously the agency views the risk.

The products were manufactured in China and sold online at Rozato.Store, Amazon.com, StoreDune.com, StovesDirect.com, RetailMarket.net, and other websites from 2022 to present, for about $15 to $70.

What Is Flame Jetting and Why Is It So Dangerous

Rozato fire pits require users to pour liquid fuel like isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol or ethanol directly into an open container and ignite the pool of liquid fuel. The CPSC warns that this design creates two life-threatening hazards: uncontrolled pool fires and flame jetting.

  • Flame jetting occurs when a consumer tries to refuel a fire pit that appears to be extinguished but still has a hidden flame.
  • Because alcohol burns with a nearly invisible flame, it can be impossible to see.
  • When fuel is poured over that hidden flame, the vapor inside the fuel container can ignite explosively, propelling burning liquid onto the person and anyone nearby — sometimes reaching distances of 15 feet or more.

The CPSC states that fuels used in these products burn at temperatures exceeding 1,600°F and can cause third-degree burns in less than one second.

Amazon’s Role in Selling Rozato Fire Pits

Amazon.com is a confirmed distribution channel for Rozato Tabletop Fire Pits. Each case is unique, but it is possible that Amazon could face product liability for injuries linked to products it facilitates the sale and fulfillment of through its marketplace.

For example, a tabletop fire pit lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas in March 2026 naming Amazon as a defendant in a separate tabletop fire pit flame-jetting case. This lawsuit raised claims of negligence, strict product liability, breach of warranty, and violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The Texas legal landscape is actively evolving on this issue.

The Broader Tabletop Fire Pit Problem

The Rozato warning is part of a wave of CPSC action targeting alcohol-fueled tabletop fire pits. In December 2024, the agency warned that these products across the entire category had been linked to two deaths and at least 60 serious burn injuries nationally since 2019.

That survivors include people who suffered severe 3rd-degree burns to extensive areas of victims’ bodies, requiring surgery and treatment at specialized burn facilities.

In October 2024, the CPSC recalled approximately 89,500 Colsen tabletop fire pits after at least 19 people were burned. Several victims required burn unit care and faced permanent disfigurement. Colsen said it lacked financial resources to offer a remedy to consumers.

FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces were linked to 2 deaths, including an elderly couple burned after a third person refueled a fire pit that appeared extinguished. FLIKR LLC subsequently went out of business.

Texas residents have been among those harmed in tabletop fire pit incidents across the country. If you were burned in Texas by a Rozato or similar alcohol-fueled fire pit, our lawyers want to hear from you.

Tabletop fire pit burn injuries can be catastrophic — 3rd-degree burns, skin grafts, permanent scarring, and extended hospital stays are common in serious flame-jetting incidents. Texans in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and across the state who were burned by Rozato fire pits may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, disfigurement, and other damages.

The key defendants in these cases can include the Chinese manufacturer, the Rozato entity, Amazon, and any other online retailer that sold the product. A product liability attorney can evaluate your situation and identify all potentially liable parties.
