Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheels Linked to Choking Reports
In October 2026, the FDA published a warning urging parents and caregivers not to buy or serve Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheels Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars due to a potentially deadly choking hazard.
The warning applies to all flavors, quantities, and varieties of the bars, including every lot code and expiration date.
What Happened?
The FDA says it warned parents after receiving several reports of toddlers who could not breathe after choking on the dry, sticky bars. The FDA notified Once Upon a Farm, and the company agreed to a recall. The company said it received 3 reports of children who choked on the bars.
What Is the Risk?
The FDA said the “soft-baked” bars can become a dry, sticky mass when chewed by a toddler. The report describes the hazards this way:
“When chewed, the product reportedly forms a dry, sticky mass that standard choking interventions — including back blows and the Heimlich maneuver — may fail to dislodge. Some reported choking incidents have required emergency response intervention and hospital observation.”
Which Products Are Affected?
The recall involves all flavors of Tractor Wheels bars, including:
- Apple, Sweet Potato & Spinach Tractor Wheels
- Strawberry, Pumpkin & Beet Tractor Wheels
- Banana, Pumpkin & Cauliflower Tractor Wheels
Where Were They Sold?
The FDA said the recalled Tractor Wheels toddler bars were sold nationwide, online and in stores including Costco, Target, and Walmart, and possibly other stores, Amazon.com, or 3rd-party retailers.
Once Upon a Farm said refunds are available with a receipt from the place of purchase. For more information, updates will be posted on the FDA advisory and the company recall website.
