OCTROT Recalled 178,000 Heated Blankets Sold on Amazon

On July 30, 2026, the CPSC published a recall covering roughly 178,000 OCTROT heated sherpa throws and blankets. The problem is the power cord, according to the CPSC:

“The electrical cord on the recalled throws and blankets can detach and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire, burn and shock hazards.”

What Goes Wrong With These Heated Blankets?

These throws and blankets were sold exclusively online through Amazon.com for about 4 years, between August 2021 and December 2025. They cost around $40 to $60.
