NordicTrack Rowing Machine Recall
On October 16, 2025, a recall was announced for about 44,800 iFIT NordicTrack Rowing Machines after reports of the screen consoles catching on fire, overheating, melting, smoking, and property damage.
What is iFIT?
The NordicTrack recall was announced by iFIT, a “smart fitness” virtual training program that connects with NordicTrack Rowing Machines to provide fitness classes and interactive personal training.
What Happened?
iFIT warned that the “screen console can overheat and ignite, which poses a fire hazard.” There were no reports of any burn injuries as of October 2025, but iFIT said there were 8 reported incidents, including 2 fires and 6 reports of smoking and melting screen consoles.
iFIT said these incidents caused “at least $6,000 in property damage.”
Product Information
The recall involves NordicTrack Rowing Machines with model numbers NTRW19147.0, NTRW19147.1, NTRW19147.2 or NTRW19147.3. This number can be found on a decal on the base of the machine.
The front legs of the machines have “NordicTrack” in black letters, and the back legs have “RW900” in white letters.
They were sold nationwide from November 2018 through April 2022 at stores like Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nebraska Furniture, ABT, and online at nordictrack.com and Amazon.com.
What Should I Do?
iFIT is urging customers to check the model number on their NordicTrack Rowing Machine. If your rower has Model NTRW19147, immediately unplug the machine and stop using it until it is repaired.

How To Identify Recalled Rowing Machines
The recall only involves an older style of NordicTrack Rowing Machines with Model NTRW19147 that were sold before April 2022.
According to the FAQ page provided by iFIT, these machines have a “front cooling fan housing with visible vent openings below the console and a rounder, bulkier flywheel cover.”
Newer versions of the NordicTrack Rowing Machine are NOT affected by the recall. These machines have a sleek front housing with no fan openings, and a more streamlined design.
