UPDATE: SharkNinja Hit With Gruesome Ninja Blender Lawsuit

In July 2021, SharkNinja was hit with another gruesome Ninja blender lawsuit after a woman suffered serious hand injuries.

The woman, Nicole G., claims her Nutri Ninja BL480 blender shot off its base and exposed the razor-sharp spinning blades. She suffered gruesome lacerations to her hand, including cuts down to the bone.

Her lawyers accuse SharkNinja LLC of selling dangerous, defective Ninja® blenders that produce too much pressure. Furthermore, her lawsuit claims that the canister does not effectively lock onto the base, which poses a major injury hazard when the blades are exposed.

What is the Risk?

SharkNinja’s line of Ninja® blenders have 6 blades stacked on a vertical column. On many blenders, the blades do not lock in place. When a person pours out their blended-up smoothie or other food, the blades can fall out unexpectedly and cause severe cuts.

SharkNinja Recalls 1.1 Million Blenders After 53 Laceration Injuries Reported

In November 2015, SharkNinja recalled 1.1 million Ninja® BL660 blenders after 53 people were injured when the blades fell out.

SharkNinja recommended that users lock the lid and pour through the spout, or remove the blades before pouring, to avoid the risk.

The recalled Ninja blenders have models beginning with BL 660, BL 663 or BL 665. They were sold from March 2012 through September 2015 at stores like Bath & Beyond, Costco, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Target, Walmart, and online. Click here for more information.
