Miyoko Vegan Butter Recall

In September 2026, Sprouts Farmers Market notified customers that Miyoko’s had issued a recall for select lots of 8oz European Style Cultured Vegan Salted Butter. At Sprouts, the product is sold under the name “Miyoko’s European Style Plant Milk Butter.”

No illnesses were reported, but Sprouts said the E. coli contamination was discovered by testing through the manufacturer.

The recall is also listed in the FDA Enforcement Report, which designated it as a Class II recall in October 2026. The report listed contamination with yeast, mold, and E. coli.

The recall is limited to a single lot:

• Lot: 1007871
• Best By: November 5, 2026
• Quantity: 1,304 cases (6-oz units/case)
• Distributed By: Prosperity Organic Foods, Inc. Boise, Idaho 83702.
• The product is perishable and stored refrigerated/frozen.

Where Was It Sold?

Sprouts has stores in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Recall notices were also posted by Raley’s and Wegmans, which also sold Miyoko’s vegan butter.
