Southern Telecom Expands Recall of Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kits
In June 2026, Southern Telecom Inc. of New York expanded a recall for Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kits that were sold at discount retailers nationwide.
The problem is that the roll-on warmers’ power cord can overheat and short circuit. This poses a fire hazard and a risk of serious injury from burns and electrical shocks.
The recall expansion added the LOMB2004PK model, along with 2 additional reports of the power cord overheating, covering about 14,700 more kits, for a total of approximately 34,000 kits in both recalls. The kits were sold between February 2025 and December 2025 for about $13.
June 2024: Original Recall Information
The original recall was announced by Southern Telecom in June 2024. That recall involved an earlier model (LOMB2003PK) of the same Lomi waxing kit with the same defect. Consumers are being asked to stop using the kits and request a full refund. The products were sold at Ross, DD’s, Bealls, and Burlington stores nationwide from April 2023 through October 2023 for about $13.
What Is the Fire and Burn Hazard?
The problem is linked to the wax warmer’s power cord. According to the CPSC:
The roll-on warmers’ power cord can overheat and short circuit, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire, burn and electrical shock hazards.
Because the warmer is a handheld device that is held close to the skin and often used at home, an overheating cord or electrical short-circuit poses a serious fire and injury risk.
Which Lomi Waxing Kits Were Recalled?
The recall covers the Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kit with Wax Cartridge & Wax Strips. Each boxed kit included a handheld wax warmer, a wax cartridge, wax strips, a power cord, and a user’s manual. The Lomi logo is printed on the front of the white and pink warmer and on the product packaging, and the model number is printed on a label on the bottom of the warmer.
The following models are affected:
- Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kit, model LOMB2003PK — originally recalled in June 2024
- Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kit, model LOMB2004PK — added in the June 2026 expansion (UPC 680079034191)
Where Were the Lomi Waxing Kits Sold?
The expanded recall includes waxing kits that were sold at Ross, DD’s Discounts, Variety Wholesalers, and Burlington stores nationwide from February 2025 through December 2025 for about $13.
The earlier 2024 recall also covered kits sold at Bealls stores. The products in the original recall were sold nationwide from April 2023 through October 2023 for about $13.
The CPSC says consumers should stop using the recalled waxing kits immediately and contact Southern Telecom for a full refund. Owners are being asked to unplug the warmer, cut the power cord in half, upload a photo of the destroyed product, and then dispose of it. You can find updates on the company’s recall page or the official CPSC recall page.
How Many People Were Affected?
The manufacturer received said it received 2 reports of overheating in the original recall in 2024, including 2 consumers who suffered burn injuries and 1 report of property damage. There were another 2 overheating incidents reported in the 2026 recall expansion.
