INIU Power Banks Recalled for Fire Hazard & Burn Risks

On December 5, 2025, the Seattle, WA-based company INIU announced a recall for about 210,000 INIU BI-B41 Power Banks that can overheat and ignite. There were reports of nearly a dozen fires, several burn injuries, and significant property damage.

Why Was My Power Bank Recalled?

The power banks were recalled because they may contain a defective lithium-ion battery that can overheat and ignite or explode. This poses fire and burn injury hazards, as well as property damage due to fires.

What Happened?

According to INIU, there were reports of 15 power banks overheating, which resulted in 11 fires and 3 minor burn injuries. These fires caused at least $380,000 in property damage.

INIU is warning consumers to immediately stop using the recalled power banks and contact the company for a refund.

When Were They Sold on Amazon?

The recall only involves INIU Power Banks with Model BI-B41. They were sold exclusively on Amazon.com (Amazon USA) from August 2021 through April 2022 for about $18.

How Do I Check If My Power Bank Was Recalled?

Consumers can look on the front of the power bank for the INIU logo and an LED-light that looks like a paw print.

On the back of the power bank, the model and serial number are printed on the bottom. Only power banks with the following serial numbers are affected by the recall:

• 000H21
• 000I21
• 000L21

What Should I Do?

If you bought an INIU Portable Power Bank, immediately stop using it and store it in a cool, dry place until you can confirm whether it is affected by the recall. Visit the recall website at https://iniushop.com/pages/recall-b41 to verify your power bank’s serial number.

How Do I Get a Refund?

If your INIU Power Bank is affected by the recall, immediately stop using it and contact INIU to register for a refund, which will be issued as either a refund of your purchase price, or an Amazon gift card.

To get a refund, you must submit a photo of your power bank showing the model and serial number and proof of purchase from Amazon.
