Infinity Bee Pollen Pills Contain Hidden Ingredient

April 11, 2014 — Infinity Bee Pollen contains sibutramine, according to a laboratory analysis from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The agency has published a Public Safety Alert to warn against using Infinity:

“The product poses a threat to consumers because sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke.”

Sibutramine can also interact with other medications you are taking and cause life-threatening side effects.

What is Sibutramine?

Sibutramine is the active pharmaceutical ingredient in Meridia, a prescription drug that was originally approved to treat obesity. It was withdrawn from the market on October 8, 2010 after a study found that it could increase the risk of cardiovascular side effects to patients. The SCOUT clinical trial demonstrated a 16% increased risk of major cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and death) in patients on sibutramine compared to patients on a placebo.
