JKMax Linked to Nationwide Heated Blanket Recall
In September 2026, safety officials announced a recall for roughly 195,000 heated blankets and heating pads that were sold exclusively on Amazon by a seller called JKMax.
What Happened?
JKMax said it received 577 reports of overheating, including 53 incidents that resulted in burn injuries. The recall involves every heated blanket and heating pad that JKMax sold on Amazon.
What Is the Problem?
The internal wire heating elements that are sewn into the polyester fabric of the blankets and heating pads can potentially get too hot. When these wires overheat, people can suffer burn injuries. The problem also poses a fire hazard. No fires were reported, but there were reports of the blankets smoking, melting, and overheating.
Which Products Are Affected?
The recall involves heated blankets and heating pads with the following product information:
- JKMax Heated Blankets and Heating Pads
- JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B, and JKMAX-8490B heated blankets and heating pads
- Colors: blue, gray, brown, and red
- Polyester fabric with heating elements woven into the fabric
- Sold in multiple sizes
- Came with a detachable white remote control to adjust heat and turn the product on/off
- Model number can be found on the back of the remote control, and also on the packaging label
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled blankets and pads were sold exclusively on Amazon.com from September 2022 through July 2026. They were sold individually and also in 2-packs.
