Giantex Lounge Chairs Linked to Finger Amputation Recall
In May 2026, Giantex recalled about 1,155 outdoor lounge chairs after the CPSC identified a pinch point that poses an amputation risk..
According to the CPSC, consumers can place their fingers in a pinch point when adjusting the chair. Giantex has received 1 report of a consumer’s finger being amputated while adjusting the lounge chair.
The chairs were distributed by Giantex Inc., of Ontario, California, and manufactured in China.
What Is the Amputation Hazard?
The chairs have a 5-position locking system to adjust the backrest. The height can be adjusted from 13.5 inches to 26.5 inches. If consumers put their fingers in a pinch-point when adjusting the chair, the finger may be amputated, crushed, or severely injured.
A finger amputation is a permanent injury. It can require surgery, leave lasting nerve damage, and affect a person’s ability to work and handle everyday tasks. If your finger was caught in the chair while you adjusted the backrest, you are not alone.

Legal Help for Amputation Injury Victims in Texas
Outdoor lounge chairs are a common sight on Texas patios, by backyard pools, and on porches across Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. A chair that costs under $90 should never put a person’s fingers at risk of amputation.
When an everyday product is defective and poses an amputation risk, the consequences can be permanent. Texans who were injured by a Giantex lounge chair may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.
