EcoFlow Recalls 25,030 Delta Max 2000 Power Stations for Fire Hazard

In October 2025, EcoFlow Technology announced a recall for approximately 25,030 EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 Portable Power Stations (Model EFD310) that can overheat and ignite, which poses a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries. There were 6 reports of fires that caused at least $850,000 in property damage.

Can I Get a Refund?

No. The recall does not involve a traditional product return or a refund. Instead, EcoFlow is urging customers to stop using the power stations and update the firmware. The fix involves a free firmware update through the EcoFlow app. You can get more information at the EcoFlow recall website here: https://www.ecoflow.com/us/blog/ecoflow-delta-max-2000-recall-firmware-update.

Which Products Are Affected?

  • Model: EcoFlow Delta Max 2000, Model EFD310 (only this model is affected — no other EcoFlow models are included)
  • Serial number: Begins with “DA” — printed on the nameplate on the underside of the unit
  • Appearance: Black and silver body; rectangular LCD display on front; six AC outlets on back; “ECOFLOW MAX” on the right side
  • Sold at: Costco.com, Amazon.com, and EcoFlow.com from July 2022 through May 2025 for about $1,600

Consumers can also verify their unit at the official CPSC recall pag or by contacting EcoFlow directly at 833-424-4137 or deltamax2000@ecoflow.com.

What is the Fire Hazard?

The defect involves the lithium-ion battery system inside the Delta Max 2000 Power Station. The batteries can potentially overheat and catch on fire.

The issue is linked to a problem called “thermal runaway,” a chain reaction in which rising heat causes further heat generation, rapidly producing open flames, toxic smoke, and extreme temperatures. In a unit carrying 2,016 watt-hours of stored energy, this failure mode can cause a fire that spreads quickly to nearby materials and structures.

“The Power Stations may overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious burn injury and fire hazard.” — CPSC, Recall Notice 26-010

EcoFlow said the battery problem can be fixed through a firmware update to improve battery monitoring and management. However, consumers who have already experienced a fire or suffered injuries or property damage may have claims that go beyond the firmware remedy.

How Many Texans Are Affected?

Texas is one of the largest markets for portable power equipment in the country, given the state’s size, rural geography, and recurring severe weather events.

With 25,030 recalled units sold nationwide between July 2022 and May 2025, many Texas households could potentially be affected by this recall. EcoFlow has received 6 confirmed reports of these power stations catching on fire, with total property damage exceeding $850,000.

Some of the potential injuries and consequences from a Delta Max 2000 fire include:

  • Serious burn injuries from direct flame or radiant heat contact
  • Smoke inhalation from burning lithium-ion battery materials
  • Structural fire damage to homes, garages, RVs, or outbuildings
  • Total loss of property stored near the unit
  • Secondary fires spreading to vehicles or adjacent structures

Portable power stations like the EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 are popular across Texas — from storm season backup power in Houston and San Antonio to off-grid use on ranches, hunting camps, and rural properties throughout the state.

Texans routinely rely on these units during power outages caused by hurricanes, ice storms, and extreme heat events. With a retail price of about $1,600, these are significant investments that many households depend on when the grid goes down.

When a large-format lithium-ion battery unit like the Delta Max 2000 fails, it can catch on fire. Thermal runaway involving an overheating lithium-ion battery can produce intense, fast-moving flames that can burn surrounding structures, furniture, or vehicles. A power station in a home, garage, RV, or other structure can become the source of a devastating fire within seconds.

For Texans who use these units in attached garages, enclosed spaces, or during overnight backup power situations, a fire poses an especially serious threat to life and property.
