Dupray Recalls Over 651,000 Steam Cleaners for Burn Injury Risks

In February 2026, Dupray USA recalled more than 651,000 steam cleaners after reports of burns, other injuries, and property damage when the boiler ruptured.

What Is the Problem?

The steam cleaners have a boiler that is designed to heat up water and produce steam. The problem is that this boiler can potentially rupture and spew scalding-hot steam, which poses a burn hazard.

According to the recall:

“When the boiler is overfilled, corroded, and the pressure release valve also malfunctions, the boiler may rupture, creating a risk of burn hazards or serious injury to users or bystanders. This issue has been identified in certain production batches of the Dupray Neat™ Steam Cleaner.”

How Many Burn Injuries Were Reported?

Dupray said it received 15 reports of incidents of boiler ruptures, including 4 people who suffered injuries, including:

• Minor burns
• Bruises
• Lacerations (cuts)
• Broken wrist

Health Canada Announces Recall

The recall was also announced in conjunction with Health Canada. Safety officials said 3 of the reported incidents originated in Canada, and the other 12 reports originated in the United States.

What is the Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner?

The recall involves the Dupray® Neat™ Steam Cleaner, a portable steam cleaner that is used to clean, detail, sanitize, and deodorize household surfaces. The boiler is located inside the base of the unit, which is white. The base is connected to a flexible hose that is black. It has accessories like brushes, tools, a Velco pad, and dust cloths.

How To Identify Recalled Steam Cleaners

Dupray announced the recall for about 651,145 Neat Steam Cleaners that were sold in the U.S. (plus another 96,530 units sold in Canada).

These units can be identified by the following information:

• Model Number is DUP020WNA
• Batch/Date Code 0118-01 through 0425-05
• Information can be found on the rating label located on the bottom of the cleaner

Where Were They Sold?

The recalled steam cleaners were sold nationwide in the U.S. and Canada between April 2018 and December 2025 for about $150. They were sold in stores and online at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Walmart, Amazon.com, Dupray.com, and other retailers and websites.

Can I Get a Refund?

No. Instead of a refund, Dupray is urging customers to immediately stop using the steam cleaners and visit the recall website at https://dupray.com/en-us/pages/recall, where you can check if your steam cleaner is affected by the recall.

If so, you can contact Dupray to receive a free replacement water cap (pressure-release valve). This cap is designed to prevent malfunction.

According to Dupray, the replacement cap is “quick and easy to install with a simple screw-on design.” It is also free, including shipping.
