DR Power Recalls Trimmer Mowers for Fire Hazard
On October 8, 2026, DR Power Equipment announced a recall for around 42,860 Pilot and Premier walk-behind trimmer mowers in the U.S., plus About 340 more units that were sold in Canada.
DR Power said it received 19 reports of Pilot and Premier Trimmer Mowers catching on fire. Two of those reports involved minor injuries, such as blisters on the hands and feet.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warning:
“Grass and debris can accumulate in the trimmer mowers and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards.”
What is the Problem?
When grass clippings and other debris collect under the machine near the engine and electrical components, they can potentially catch on fire. There were 2 reports of minor injuries (blisters on the hands and feet), but this problem poses a serious fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries or death.

The recalled trimmer mowers were imported by DR Power’s parent company, Generac Power Systems Inc., of Waukesha, Wisconsin. They were manufactured in the United States and Vietnam.
The recall covers all serial numbers of the following 8 models:

- T4X1176DMNR — DR Trimmer Pilot 7.6 FPT DR MS Recon
- TR43076DMN — DR Trimmer Premier 7.6 FPT DR MS
- TR43076DMNR — DR Trimmer Premier 7.6 FPT DR MS Recon
The model number is on a white label on the side of the frame. This white label also shows the unit’s manufacture date in YYYYMMDD format.
They are orange and black, with the DR Power® logo on top of the motor and on top of the frame above the cutter head. “Premier” or “Pro” are marked the side of the frame.
Where Were Recalled DR Trimmer Mowers Sold?
They were sold between November 2022 and July 2026 at Ace, TSC, Bomgaars, other home improvement stores, hardware stores, and independent power equipment stores nationwide. They were also sold online at drpower.com. The prices ranged from $380 to $550.
