Diflucan (fluconazole) is a powerful ant-fungal drug that is associated with a rare set of distinct birth defects in babies who were exposed to high doses during pregnancy. The FDA published a Safety Warning about this risk in 2011.

FDA Warning for Diflucan Birth Defects
Diflucan (fluconazole) is an anti-fungal medication. In August 2011, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a Drug Safety Communication and warned that birth defects may be more common in women who use high doses of Diflucan (400-800 mg/day). However, they cautioned that birth defects were not associated with the use of single, low-doses of Diflucan for vagina Candidiasis (yeast) infections.
Birth Defects Linked to Diflucan
- Congenital heart disease
- Cleft lip or cleft palate
- Abnormal skull development
- Femoral bowing
- Thin ribs and long bones
- Muscle weakness
- Joint deformities
- Flat head syndrome or head defect (brachycephaly)
What is the problem?
The Clark Firm, LLP is nationally recognized as a class action law firm, but our attorneys are not filing a Diflucan class action lawsuit. Instead, we are filing individual lawsuits on behalf of children who were born with severe birth defects associated with Diflucan.
About Class Actions
Class actions are designed to help thousands of people seek compensation and justice for the same injury from the same defendant — such as when a major corporation systematically denies wages, or a manufacturer sells a defective product.
Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Diflucan Class Action
Class actions are not designed to help individual plaintiffs maximize their financial recovery. Another problem is that members of class actions are often forced into higher attorneys’ fees or a “low-ball” settlement.
Our attorneys file individual lawsuits because we believe each child who was injured by Diflucan deserves a personal legal representative. We specialize in helping victims of defective drugs file lawsuits against drug-makers. There is no excuse for failing to warn about birth defects. If you decide to file a lawsuit, we may be able to help you achieve compensation for your child’s pain and suffering, ongoing medical expenses, disability, and more.
